Kimberly Wimbish is a public relations and media mogul in the Hampton Roads community. With over 20 years of experience in marketing, she is known as “The People’s Connector,” where her PR firm KMK Productions takes any brand, mission, or cause and creates the vision of her clients with the resources needed to be successful. Her diverse portfolio of clients consists of small business owners, mega-churches, HBCU universities; political officials, community leaders, board members; state and local programs, and nonprofit organizations. She is a Professor at Hampton University teaching in the Scripps Howard School of Journalism. 

She has consulted on many local political campaigns resulting in the election of the Honorable Kenneth Cooper Alexander the first black mayor of Norfolk, VA; The Honorable Lakeesha Atkinson the youngest and first openly LGBT member on the Portsmouth School Board; and Delegate Jerrauld Jones House of Delegates 89th District. In 2017 Kimberly was the spokesperson for Ashanti Billie, which resulted in the Ashanti Alert Act for critically missing people from ages 18 to 64. In 2018 President Trump signed off on the federal legislation to be active in all states for those adults who are recognized to be critically missing or in danger within 24hrs of a mysterious disappearance. In 2021 she worked alongside Virginia Minority Leader Delegate Don Scott to get House Bill 2038 Probation Reform signed into Virginia state law. She also successfully petitioned former Virginia Governor Ralph Northam’s administration to have two pardons granted for two individuals: Brian Faulcon, a former Chesapeake basketball coach convicted of robbery; and Ronald Davis who was sentenced to 80 years and expected to die in prison for robbery.

She is the spokesperson for Banister Nissan of Norfolk and Chesapeake, VA, and Banister Ford in Upper Marlboro, Maryland representing the national brands Nissan and Ford. Her work has appeared on nationally syndicated television, publications, and radio programmings such as Fox News, CNN, BET; Essence, Vibe, and Source magazines; The Washington Post, The New York Times, The Guardian, and numerous others. She continues to serve her local community as a member of the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce, Chairwoman & Director of Communications for the Portsmouth NAACP, and a member of Portsmouth Women in NAACP. She is a third-generation woman of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and an active member of the Suffolk Alumnae chapter in Suffolk, Virginia. Kimberly has served as the keynote speaker for Virginia’s “Women Impact Virginia” and Norfolk State University’s PRSSA Conference and has been an honored panelist for multiple events including the National Broadcast Society Conference.
Her passion to give back is displayed every year with her annual Heartbeat Gala in support of heart disease in the African American community. Her community service and activism have awarded her the 2018 Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Hugo A. Owens Humanitarian Award; 2019 Norfolk State University Change Maker Award; and a 2020 recipient of Inside Business’ Forty Under 40 for Outstanding Young Business Professionals in Hampton Roads. She was also awarded the 2020 Journey is Success Pearl award for Legend in the Making, and most recently the 2022 Social Action award from the Nansemond Suffolk branch of the NAACP.

Kimberly is a mother, entrepreneur, activist & educator. A proud graduate of Norfolk State University she holds a Bachelors in Marketing and a Masters in Strategic Public Relations with a certification in Global Public Relations from George Washington University. Kimberly has dedicated her life to paving a way for others and being a mentor and servant to those in need. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, experiencing various cultures and foods, and spoiling her fur baby, Red.
