Curry Hackett
Hackreative
Principal
Curry Hackett is a 2013 graduate of the Howard University School of Architecture, and the principal of Hackreative, an ecologically-minded studio established in 2015. Hackreative works with municipalities to promote public awareness of and accessibility to the built environment—primarily via data visualization, streetscape design, and research. Currently, he consults on the DC Clean Rivers Project (DC Water’s $2.6 billion stormwater infrastructure program) and leads the design team for the Howard Theatre Walk of Fame (a decorative streetscape project in Shaw). He has also worked with several public-facing institutions, including DC’s Office of Planning, DC Public Library, and Shaw Main Streets. By engaging design and integrating local culture, Hackett’s practice seeks to nurture public spaces that optimize aesthetics and equity.
