David Smith

Co-Founder/Chief Operations Officer
David Smith currently serves as Senior Regional Organizer for the Southern Region and the Co-Founder/Chief Operations Officer of Dissertation Decoded, an educational consulting firm providing professional coaching services to doctoral students who struggle to complete their dissertation. Previously he served as Chief of Staff at the U.S. Black Chambers, Inc. (USBC), a national nonprofit organization committed to advocating for, and supporting, minority-owned businesses and chambers of commerce nationwide. David also served as the Project Coordinator with the Capital Region Small Business Transportation Resource Center (SBTRC), a program administered through the US Department of Transportation to assist disadvantaged business owners with technical assistance to ultimately lead to improved access to capital and contracts.
David is dedicated to creating educational programming, entrepreneurial training and managing professional relationships that lead to economic prosperity for all, especially low and moderate-income communities. David received his BA from Temple University (Go Owls!) and occasionally returns to the city of Philadelphia for a much-needed cheesesteak.
