Emily McMahan is the Executive Director of Capitol Post. Capitol Post is a nonprofit teaches military veterans and their spouses how to think and act like entrepreneurs, to the benefit of their own businesses or their employer’s. Capitol Post provides the coaching, business acceleration programs and network, and office space to test, derisk, and achieve their goals. As the hub of the veteran business community in the Washington DC region, Capitol Post is also the home of Bunker Labs DC, a chapter of the national 501(c)(3) organization built by military veteran entrepreneurs to empower other military veterans as leaders in innovation.
Before starting Capitol Post, Emily was a partner and the Chief Financial Officer at Halfaker and Associates, LLC; a successful start-up technology firm serving the federal government. Emily holds an MBA from University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business and a Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Military Academy at West Point. After graduating from West Point, Emily was commissioned as an Army military police officer. Her military experience includes deployments supporting Operations Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom, and Noble Eagle. She lives in Arlington, Virginia with her husband and three children.
