Jessica Gappa is the Director of External Affairs for Comcast’s Beltway Region, which includes the District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia, and parts of Delaware, West Virginia, and North Carolina. In this role, Gappa collaborates with community partners across the region to provide strategic leadership for the company’s community impact initiatives such as Comcast Cares Day, Internet Essentials broadband adoption program, Leaders & Achievers Scholarship Program, United Way employee giving campaign, and Comcast Foundation giving.
Prior to joining Comcast, Gappa was a Senior Consultant in Corporate Social Responsibility with T. Rowe Price. She was responsible for managing internal and external partnerships to increase the reach and impact of the firm’s corporate social responsibility and employee engagement initiatives. She also previously served as the Director of Marketing and Communications for the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation.
Gappa holds a Master of Science in Marketing from Johns Hopkins Carey Business School and a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Communication from Creighton University. She is a Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Baltimore board member, Vice Chair of the Baltimore Orchard Project board of directors, and a founding member of the Aspen Institute’s Project Play Baltimore Advisory Group. She also served as an AmeriCorps VISTA member and supervisor.
