Lauren Dunne

Varnish Lane
Co-founder and CEO

Lauren Dunne is the Co-founder and CEO of Varnish Lane, a natural waterless nail salon and product brand raising the industry standards of nail care in Washington, DC. It is not just about manicures, pedicures and skincare products for Lauren, it’s about the ultimate experience for each customer and creating a place to escape and pamper yourself. Lauren, along with her mother, Co-founder, Carrie Dunne, knew there was an opportunity to elevate the nail care standard from the unsanitary and unprofessional salons to a clean and relaxing place that looks less like a salon and more like your dream living room. Varnish Lane provides environmentally friendly waterless services from highly trained staff with locally-made chemical free products and on-trend polish brands. Varnish Lane’s first location is located in Friendship Heights with the second location opening in the West End in early October 2019 and the third location opening in early 2019 in Mt. Vernon Triangle with plans to continuing opening locations in DC and beyond in the next several years.

With a background in client experiences within the fashion and high-end wedding and catering industry, Lauren believes the relationship between a business and its clients is much more than a transaction of services, but a relationship between a brand and its community. Lauren combines a love imaginative vision with organizational genius and a longtime obsession with everything nails and non-toxic beauty.

Lauren and the Varnish Lane brand have been featured in InStyle, Washington Business Journal, Allure’s Best of Beauty issue, Good Housekeeping, Fox5 News, ABC 7’s Good Morning Washington and more.
