Nick Freshman

Founder
Mothersauce Partners

After graduating from Emory University, Nick followed his heart and stomach into the restaurant industry. Over his 20-year career, Nick has worked in almost every capacity, leading multiple restaurants from the concept stage to thriving businesses. He is currently the co-owner of Spider Kelly's in Arlington, VA, one of the area's largest and most successful bars since it opened in 2008.

In 2016, Nick founded Mothersauce Partners to solve an ongoing problem in the industry: talented people with great ideas fail to succeed because they lack funding or business expertise. Mothersauce Partners provides investment capital and strategic guidance to food and drink entrepreneurs to overcome this hurdle and help bring new concepts to life.

To date, Mothersauce has helped launch Takoma Beverage Company and The Eleanor, is working to help open several more--among them a craft brewery and an Italian concept—and is currently developing its own concept. Additionally, Mothersauce Partners has strategically partnered with growth-oriented concepts like Hungry and consulted on a number of other concepts.

Nick is chairman of the board of directos of La Cocina VA, a non-profit culinary training center dedicated to creating opportunities for social and economic change through feeding, educating, and empowering the minds of the most vulnerable members of the DC community.

Nick is a native Washingtonian and lives in Arlington with his wife and daughter.
