Schroeder Stribling

N Street Village
Chief Executive Officer

Ms. Schroeder Stribling is a social worker by background and has been at N Street Village since 2003 when she initially came as the Director of Programs. Under Schroeder’s leadership, N Street Village has grown significantly – the housing offerings have more than tripled, and the programs have greatly expanded in the areas of health, mental health and addiction recovery.

In 2006, Schroeder was first appointed to the DC Interagency Council on Homelessness (ICH). The ICH is an advisory group intended to provide the Mayor with strategic policy and planning guidance regarding homelessness. Schroeder has been re-appointed several times to the ICH since then. She presently serves as the Chair of the Board of the Center for Nonprofit Advancement, and is on the Boards of the National Capital Breast Care Center and MedArt Center for Integrative Medicine at GW. Schroeder previously served on the Boards of Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan Washington and Community Bridges in Montgomery County, where she served for three years as the Board Chair.

Schroeder received a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Wellesley College, a Masters in Social Work from Smith School for Social Work, and a certificate in Nonprofit Management from Georgetown University.  Her professional career has focused chiefly on anti-poverty programs, women’s mental health and addiction issues, and services and policy to support those with major mental illness.  Prior to coming to N Street Village, Schroeder was at Johns Hopkins Bayview Hospital where she was responsible for the implementation of new mental health programs in the inner city Head Start school system.
