Ms. Bland has more 20 years of project management and consulting experience in the DC area engineering, real estate development, and construction and program management markets. Of particular note is her expertise with various DC Government agencies, the U.S. General Services Administration, Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, DC Water, and other local agencies within Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties.  She is co-founder and President of Indigo Mid-Atlantic a program/project/construction management, engineering services and environmental consulting company. Ms. Bland has responsibility for project and program management; strategic business plans, monitoring legal compliance, technical writing, government /community relations, and public outreach. In her business consulting practice, Sharon consults and conducts training on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Compliance for state and local government agencies.  She also consults nationwide on developing Public-Private Partnerships with IMPACT (Ironworkers Management Progressive Action Cooperative Trust).  Previously, she was a Vice President at JMT, Inc. and Corporate Vice President of McKissack & McKissack both in Washington, DC.  She also worked in various roles within the District of Columbia government, including serving as the Senior Policy Advisor for Higher Education and Economic Development and Community Relations.  Sharon brings her deep local experience and highly sought after management skills including diversity programs, negotiation and dispute resolution; managing public engagement; and risk management.
Ms. Bland serves a speaker on issues involving Equity, Inclusion, Diversity, Compliance, Public Engagement and Public-Private partnerships.  She has served on numerous boards including American Council of Engineering Companies as the Legislative Chair 2014-16; Construction Management Association of America, Secretary 2014-2016, Treasurer 2016-current; and, Chair, Disaster Relief for the Easter Area, Links, Inc.   She is also a member of Women in Infrastructure and Women’s Transportation Seminar, the National Diversity Council, National Association of Diversity Officers in Higher Education, and American Association of Women in Community Colleges.  She is a 2007 graduate of Leadership Greater Washington.
